The modern solution to an ancient pestilence

Grasshopper Zapper: The Shocking Solution, kill grasshopper's, pest management, reduces grasshopper populations

The Grasshopper Zapper is the only environmentally friendly method available to assist in the control of grasshopper infestations. The unit can be used in both the agricultural sector and in recreational sites.

The creators of the Grasshopper Zapper are Ken Podgurney and Roger Beaudoin of Whitecourt, Alberta. Roger Beaudoin came up with the idea for the Grasshopper Zapper after watching a television program about a farmer who was having trouble with grasshoppers in his turnips.

The Grasshopper Zapper consists of a 20 ft main section comprised of 2 – 10 ft sections that are built of 2” square and angle iron. Each 10 ft panel consists of a 3 mesh grid system that has been hot dip galvanized for longer life and is electrified by a 3500 W generator that powers 12000 V Allanson transformers. The unit is complete with hi-grade plastic trays that glide over crops and isolate them from the grid system and for collection of the grasshopper remains prior to depositing them on the ground.
